FAQs
What is PRP Therapy?
We offer PRP Therapy at Transformations Aesthetics in Asbury Lake, FL to harness your body’s own platelets and growth factors to naturally stimulate collagen, restore skin health, and promote rejuvenation. Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a regenerative treatment that uses your body’s own natural healing properties to restore and rejuvenate tissue.
A small sample of your blood is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to separate out the platelet-rich plasma — a golden layer that contains a high concentration of growth factors and healing proteins. These platelets are then injected or applied back into targeted areas to stimulate collagen production, improve circulation, and accelerate tissue repair.
How does PRP Therapy work?
PRP therapy works by harnessing the healing power of your own blood to restore and rejuvenate tissue.
-
Blood Collection – A small sample of your blood is drawn, just like a routine lab test.
-
Centrifuge Separation – The sample is spun in a centrifuge to separate the golden layer of platelet-rich plasma (PRP), which contains a high concentration of growth factors and proteins.
-
Application or Injection – This concentrated plasma is then injected into targeted areas (such as the skin, scalp, or under-eyes) or applied topically during treatments like microneedling.
-
Cellular Activation – Once delivered, the growth factors signal your fibroblasts and stem cells to produce more collagen, elastin, and new blood vessels. This boosts skin repair, improves texture, and even stimulates dormant hair follicles.
-
What is PRP Therapy used for?
PRP is most commonly used to:
-
Improve skin tone, texture, and elasticity
-
Reduce fine lines and early signs of aging
-
Rejuvenate the under-eye area (dark circles, hollowness, crepey skin)
-
Stimulate hair growth for thinning or shedding hair
-
Enhance results of microneedling (“Vampire Facial”)
-
How many treatments of PRP Therapy will I need?
Most patients see optimal results with a series of 3 treatments, spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Maintenance sessions may be recommended every 6–12 months depending on the treatment area and goals.
When will I see results with PRP Therapy?
Initial improvements in skin radiance or hair quality may appear within a few weeks, with more significant results (like smoother skin or new hair growth) developing gradually over 2–3 months as collagen builds and follicles repair.
What is PRF Therapy?
PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) therapy is a next-generation treatment that uses your own blood to naturally restore and rejuvenate skin. Unlike PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma), which releases growth factors all at once, PRF contains platelets, white blood cells, stem cells, and a fibrin matrix that allow growth factors to be released slowly over time. This gradual process stimulates collagen, improves healing, and creates longer-lasting, more natural results. PRF is commonly used for under-eye rejuvenation, facial volume support, hair restoration, and skin tightening.
