• What is Filler?

  Filler, also called a dermal filler, is an injectable treatment used to restore volume, smooth lines, and balance facial features. Most fillers are made from hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring substance in the skin that attracts and retains moisture. Others use collagen stimulators like calcium hydroxylapatite (Radiesse®) or poly-L-lactic acid (Sculptra®) to help the skin produce its own collagen over time.

• What is Filler used for?

  Filler is ideal for adults who want to restore lost volume, enhance facial features, or smooth lines and folds without surgery. Filler is most commonly used to:

  • Restore Lost Volume:
    • Cheeks and midface (to lift and contour)
    • Temples (to fill hollowing)
    • Under-eyes / tear troughs (to reduce the look of hollows or dark circles)
  • Enhance or Define Features:
    • Lips (for added volume, shape, and definition)
    • Chin (to improve projection and facial balance)
    • Jawline (to sharpen and contour)
  • Smooth Lines & Folds:
    • Nasolabial folds (smile lines)
    • Marionette lines (lines from corners of the mouth to chin)
    • Perioral lines (fine lines around the lips)
  • Improve Skin Quality:
    • Certain fillers, like Skinvive™ or Redensity™, boost hydration, smooth texture, and enhance skin luminosity without adding volume.

• What is the treatment timeline for Filler?

  Filler Treatment Timeline:

  • Onset: Results are visible immediately after treatment, though mild swelling or redness may occur for the first few days.
  • Full Effect: Most fillers settle and fully integrate within 1–2 weeks, revealing the smoothest and most natural outcome.
  • Duration:
    • Hyaluronic acid fillers: typically last 6–18 months
    • Collagen-stimulating fillers (Sculptra®, Radiesse®): can last up to 2 years or more
  • Maintenance: Follow-up appointments are recommended to maintain results, often every 6–12 months for hyaluronic acid fillers or 12–24 months for collagen-stimulating fillers, depending on the product used, the area treated, and your personal goals.

  * Filler injections usually take about 30 minutes to an hour.

  * After filler, avoid touching or massaging the treated area, strenuous exercise, alcohol, excessive heat, and makeup over injection sites for the first 24 hours. This helps minimize swelling, bruising, and the risk of shifting product before it settles.

• How much Filler will I need?

  The amount of filler you’ll need depends on the areas being treated, your facial structure, the type of filler selected, and your desired results. Filler is measured in syringes, and each area has a typical range for effective results:

  • Cheeks/Midface Volume: 1–3 syringes

  • Chin Augmentation: 1–2 syringes

  • Jawline Definition: 2–4 syringes (total for both sides)

  • Nasolabial Folds: 0.5–1 syringe per side

  • Marionette Lines: 0.5–1 syringe per side

  • Lips: 0.5–1 syringe

  • Tear Troughs (under-eyes): 0.5–1 syringe

  • Temples: 1–2 syringes

  Some patients require more or less than these averages depending on their anatomy, degree of volume loss, and whether they want a subtle or more dramatic enhancement. The best way to determine the right amount is through an in-person consultation, where we’ll evaluate your facial proportions, discuss your goals, and create a personalized treatment plan. Filler is always customized—there’s no one-size-fits-all approach.
