• What is Kybella

  Kybella® is an FDA-approved injectable treatment we offer at Transformations Aesthetics in Asbury Lake, FL. Kybella is used to permanently reduce fat beneath the chin, often referred to as a “double chin.” The active ingredient in Kybella is deoxycholic acid, a molecule that occurs naturally in the body and helps break down and absorb dietary fat. When Kybella is injected into targeted areas under the chin, it destroys fat cells so they can no longer store or accumulate fat.

• How does Kybella work?

  Kybella® works by using deoxycholic acid, a molecule that occurs naturally in the body and helps break down and absorb dietary fat.

  When Kybella is injected into the fat beneath the chin:

  1. Fat Cell Breakdown – The deoxycholic acid destroys the cell membrane of fat cells.

  2. Natural Elimination – The body gradually clears away the destroyed fat cells through the lymphatic system.

  3. Permanent Results – Once eliminated, those fat cells cannot return or store fat again.

• How many treatments of Kybella will I need?

  The number of Kybella treatments depends on the amount of fullness under your chin and your desired results.

  • Most patients need 2–4 sessions for a noticeable improvement.

  • Treatments are spaced about 4–6 weeks apart.

  • In cases of significant submental fat, up to 6 sessions may be recommended.

  • Once your treatment series is complete, the results are permanent — the fat cells destroyed by Kybella cannot return.

• When will I see results with Kybella?

  Results develop gradually as the body eliminates the destroyed fat cells. Many patients notice improvement after 2–3 sessions, with final results visible around 12 weeks after the last treatment.

• How long do results last with Kybella?

  Results are long-lasting and permanent, since once fat cells are destroyed they do not come back. Maintaining a stable weight helps preserve results.
