FAQs
What is Botox?
Botox® is an FDA-approved neuromodulator we offer at Transformations Aesthetics in Asbury Lake, FL. Botox contains botulinum toxin type A. It works by temporarily relaxing targeted facial muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles—the lines and creases that appear with repeated expressions such as frowning, squinting, or raising the eyebrows. By softening muscle activity, Botox smooths existing lines and helps prevent them from deepening. When performed by a skilled injector, Botox delivers natural-looking results that refresh your appearance—without freezing your expression.
What is Botox used for?
Botox is ideal for adults wanting to smooth fine lines, prevent aging signs, or treat medical conditions like excessive sweating or jaw clenching. Botox is most commonly used to treat:
-
Forehead lines
-
Glabellar lines (“11s” between the brows)
-
Crow’s feet (lines at the outer corners of the eyes)
It can also be used for other areas, such as: -
Lip flip (to subtly enhance upper lip shape)
-
Chin dimpling
-
Jawline slimming or TMJ relief
-
Softening vertical neck bands
-
What is the treatment timeline for Botox?
Botox Treatment Timeline:
- Onset: Most people begin to see results within 3–5 days
- Full Effect: About 10–14 days after treatment
- Duration: Typically lasts 3–4 months before gradually wearing off
- Maintenance: Regular treatments help maintain results and can lead to longer-lasting smoothness over time
* Botox injections usually take about 15-30 minutes, making it a perfect lunch break treatment.
* After Botox, avoid rubbing the treated area, lying down for 4 hours, and strenuous exercise for 24 hours to prevent migration of the product.
How much Botox will I need?
The amount of Botox you’ll need depends on the areas being treated, your muscle strength, and your goals. Botox is measured in units, and each area requires a typical range for effective results:
- Forehead lines: 10–20 units
- Glabellar lines (“11s”): 15–25 units
- Crow’s feet: 6–12 units per side
- Lip flip: 4–6 units
- Chin dimpling: 6–10 units
- Masseter/TMJ (jawline slimming or clenching): 25–50 units per side
Some people require more or less than average depending on their facial anatomy, muscle activity, and whether they want a subtle or more dramatic effect. The best way to know is through an in-person consultation, where we’ll evaluate your facial movement, discuss your goals, and create a personalized dosing plan. Botox is always tailored—there’s no one-size-fits-all approach.
